Books & Cooks Letter L: Lemon Pepper
This year I’m going to be combining two of my passions – cooking and kid lit for Books & Cooks! I’ll be bringing you great recipes based on spices of the alphabet that pair perfectly with kid lit books! Next up? The letter L and sharp and spicy Lemon Pepper!
Spice: Lemon Pepper Seasoning
Lemon pepper is so tasty and works really well with fish, chicken, and veggies. It’s a fun mixture of a little bit of acid from the lemon and a little spice from the pepper. Lemon pepper seasoning can be easily purchased pre-mixed in your spice aisle. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can even make your own!
Book Review: When Grandma Gives You a Lemon Tree by Jamie L.B. Deenihan
You might not expect a lemon tree as a birthday gift from Grandma, but if you follow the instructions carefully, you might just learn a little bit about yourself and life in general! This is fun a story that brings people together in unexpected ways! (And a perfect story for springtime planting!)
Recipe: Lemon Pepper Chicken
This is a recipe that you can make for a weeknight dinner or for a fancy dinner party! It’s fairly simple to pull together and tastes absolutely delicious over angel hair pasta with a fresh side of broccoli on the side. The website has changed the recipe slightly to make it easier for you to choose an oven or stovetop option – even more flexible!
During the month of April, I’ll be participating in the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge 2020. For my theme this year (Books & Cooks), I’ll be combing children’s books with cooking spices and including a recipe to bring the book into your very own kitchen! I love to cook and read, so I thought this would be a fun way to combine two of my passions. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! Let’s dig in! And if you want to see what I’ve done in the past, check out the past few years – 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019!
