Top Ten Tuesday: Signs You’re a Book Lover
Today’s theme is interesting because it doesn’t focus on sharing titles, rather sharing ideas about what it means to be a bibliophile. I think this can be different for everyone, but for me, it looks a little like this:
- Keeping books on my bookshelf that I might read someday.
Let’s be honest, they’ve been there for a long time and I probably won’t be reading them anytime soon, but I like the idea of them. - Carrying a book around, just in case.
I love having a book with me because I always find time to read a page or two. - You’ve been subject to a book hangover.
A book hangover is when you finish a book that was so good you just wait for a beat before starting another one. - You’ve memorized your library card number.
Yep, all 13 digits, in my noggin because I use it that often! - You devote a good portion of your suitcase to books.
I’m still not a huge fan of eBooks, but it helps with schlepping books overseas! - You examine other people’s bookshelves to get a taste for their favorites.
You can learn a lot about a person from their bookshelves. - You’ve accidentally on purpose stayed up too late finishing a book.
Sometimes, the alarm doesn’t matter, especially when a good book’s involved. - The podcasts you listen to are all about books.
All of them… I’m probably missing out on some great stuff, but I love me some books! - When traveling on public transit, you try to peek at what others are reading.
See #6. - You incorrectly pronounce words.
It’s only because you’ve read it and never heard it out loud… I’m looking at you Hermione Granger.
