Slice of Life Day 17: Stress Relief & Exercise
I spent the month of January doing a 30-day yoga journey which I enjoyed much more than I was expecting. I’m the type of person that exercises because it’s good for me, not because I enjoy doing it. So, when I actually completed 30 days of yoga in a row I was shocked that it didn’t feel like a chore to me! I, of course, didn’t keep up with it as I should through February.
But now, with gyms closed and walking the dog just not enough exercise for the day, I found a quick 20-minute yoga practice for anxiety. It seemed quite fitting to start off with this one. And just 20 minutes later, I can feel my shoulders falling back into place, my back unclenching muscles bit by bit and a little bit of quietness in my mind that wasn’t there before. I’m realistic that 20-minutes of yoga is going to solve all the world’s problems right now, but if it gets me into a calmer, more relaxed state plus it’s stretching and strengthening my muscles, I’m all for it.
Check out Yoga with Adrienne for hundreds of yoga and meditation videos on YouTube. I think kids could even join in and might enjoy it a lot!
This is my second year participating in the Slice of Life Challenge. I’ll be posting brief posts that show a glimpse of my life in story-format. A slice of my life as a librarian and blogger that I hope you enjoy!

I am so grateful my fitness class has gone to Zoom! It’s intense but definitely anxiety reducing.
Thank you for the link to the Yoga channel. I’ll check it out!

I’m not much of a class exercise person, but I have found a love for yoga and I’m definitely adding it to my daily schedule in the upcoming weeks for a little me-time!
