It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 3/16/2020

Last Week

Where do I begin? I started off chuckling at the meme I saw online warning everyone of the time change x full moon x Friday the 13th and ended the week mentally and emotionally exhausted as the library closed to the public and I tried to relay information to staff and public alike. I also worked a few extra hours, just trying to get things done which really put a dent in my reading life.

This past week I did finish When You Trap a Tiger by Tae Keller, Here in the Real World by Sara Pennypacker, and We Had to Be Brave: Escaping the Nazis on the Kindertransport by Deborah Hopkinson.

Reading List for Week of 3/16/2020

Although the library is closed to the public, the staff will still be coming into work on a modified schedule, basically every other day so as to have fewer people in the building at any given time. That being said, I’ll most likely be going in every day at least this week to allay fears and make sure staff have some projects they can work on while in the library. I’m thinking of weeding, shelf reading, and some webinar training.

I’m getting ready to start reading Mulan: Before the Sword by Grace Lin. I love Grace Lin’s work and Mulan so I’m excited to see this story. And then Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi is next on my list. I’ve already heard some amazing things and I can’t wait to read it. I’ve also got Most Likely by Ssarah Watson and The Blackbird Girls by Anne Blankman in my TBR pile.

Do you have any great reading plans for this week?
