It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 3/9/2020
Last Week
It’s been a very busy week which definitely slowed by reading down. This week, I spent a lot of time catching up on stuff at work and when I was home, I was getting some spring cleaning done.
I did manage to read a few books this week and started another. I read Clean Getaway by Nic Stone about a grandson and grandma on a road trip. Then, I read Chirp by Kate Messner about a girl who gave up gymnastics and moves to help with her grandma’s cricket farm. I love how this book addressed the #MeToo movement in a different way than I’ve seen for this age. I also started When You Trap a Tiger by Tae Keller which has some magical realism elements that I can’t wait to explore more.
Reading List for Week of 3/9/2020
I’m still catching up with a few more books, but I need to jumpstart into March published titles too! I have Here In the Real World by Sara Pennypacker that I want to read. Plus, I want to try and read We Had to Be Brave: Escaping the Nazis on the Kindertransport by Deborah Hopkinson. I don’t read as much nonfiction as I’d like so this is a great starting point this week. Plus, I can’t wait to start Mulan: Before the Sword by Grace Lin. I love Grace Lin’s work and Mulan so I’m excited to see this story. And finally, if I’ve got time I want to dive into Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi. I’ve already heard some amazing things and I can’t wait to read it.
