Four on Friday: King Tut & Ancient Egypt

On this day in 1924, King Tutankhamun’s sarcophagus was discovered. Two full years after Howard Carter had discovered his tomb virtually untouched for thousands of years. Although I have opinions on taking artifacts from their country of origin, I do love being able to learn about history from pieces that survived thousands of years! So for today, I’m sharing Four on Friday: King Tut & Ancient Egypt.

King Tut, also known as the Boy King, reigned for only ten years during his teens before his untimely death at 19. Although many scientists have studied King Tut, there is still much to be learned. It is thought that he suffered from a number of disabilities and diseases including severe malaria and a compound leg fracture.

I have always been fascinated by the story of King Tut. Not to mention, the expedition to find his grave and the supposed curse for those who disturbed the resting place. To learn more, check out today’s titles all about King Tut and Ancient Egypt.
