CYBILS Call for Judges – Open NOW!
It’s that time of year! The CYBILS call for judges – open now! The CYBILS or Children’s and Young Adult Bloggers’ Literary Awards have been annually given for the past 13 years and I was so lucky to be a part of the judging process a few years ago!
This is a two-round process with different judges in each of the rounds in the following areas:
- Easy Readers/Early Readers
- Fiction Picture Books (including board books)
- Graphic Novels
- Middle-Grade Fiction
- Nonfiction Elementary/Middle-Grade
- Nonfiction Junior High/Senior High
- Poetry
- Speculative Fiction Elementary/Middle-Grade
- Speculative Fiction YA
- YA Fiction
Although it’s a lot of work, you really get the chance to connect with other bloggers, read a ton of books, and share in finding great books to bestow an awesome award on! I loved being a judge and although I haven’t had enough time to devote to judging the past few years, I’m really considering applying this year! Don’t let imposter syndrome get to you, regardless of how you share your book love, the CYBILS is a group of people just like you who love kid and YA lit and want to share it with the world. I was really nervous when I applied to be a judge, but as I said, it was a wonderful experience!
There’s a ton of great information about the CYBILS on their website or check out my post about the process here and here. And don’t forget CYBILS Call for Judges – Open NOW!
