Top Ten Tuesday: Cover Re-Designs

I don’t necessarily have a strong feeling about cover re-designs. Most likely because in my mind a re-design means the book has staying power. It’s something that is getting transformed so the next generation can be a part of it! I took a look at five titles that I loved growing up and how the cover has changed over the years. I’m probably most partial to the cover I had growing up. But I’m so happy to see these books still on the shelf today!

Yes, cover redesigns can be an excellent sign that a book is still finding new audiences! While I do feel emotionally attached to certain covers I saw as a kid, it’s always nice to see new generations discover an old classic.

Ah, I just love those editions that came out a few years back of Anne of Green Gables and other all time favourites. The ones by Anna Bond of Rifle Paper Co–I’m completely in awe of them everytime I see them. I think it’s so interesting knowing that these novels have stood the test of time–and will continue to do so–and that each generation is going to be introduced to these books in varying packages, you know?
