It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 7/15/19
Last Week
I took a whole week to recover from my family’s visit the week before! I was so tired all week that I went to bed early every night and didn’t get too much reading in. I did finish up The Jumbie God’s Revenge which is the third book in The Jumbies trilogy by Tracey Baptiste. I’m not one that likes trilogies very often as it’s rare to find three titles of equal strength – I usually find one of them so bad that I don’t even finish it. But, The Jumbies was so intriguing with an island setting and roots in island folklore – I truly loved all three titles.
I’m part of the way through another book in a series – The Vanderbeekers to the Rescue by Karina Yan Glaser which I’m also enjoying immensely right now. I love this fun family with kids that are constantly getting in way over their heads in Harlem. I can’t wait to finish the book as I’ve been reading nothing but glowing comments on Twitter about it!
Reading List for Week of 7/15/19
I’m going to finish up The Vanderbeekers to the Rescue by Karina Yan Glaser and then I want to check in with Aven in Momentous Events in the Life of a Cactus by Dusti Bowling. And who knows what else I’ll get to – I’ve got two board meetings this week and taking some time to hang out with some girlfriends as well. All of which might cut into my reading time just a little!
