It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 5/27/19
Last Week
I’m so close! I have to finish just one more book for my Bookémon Badgeathon! I’ve loved this challenge as it has helped me to plan my month of reading, cross off some of my long-standing TBR list, and tried a few titles that I probably would have never picked up on my own.
This week I finished Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett – an adult fantasy novel that I was hesitant to read, but in the end really enjoyed the story! It’s the first in a trilogy, so who knows, maybe I’ll pick up the rest.
I also read The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman – a darker YA fantasy that made me a little nervous to pick up (I’m a wimp when it comes to scary books), but I really, really liked it! And then I finished up the weekend with It’s Trevor Noah: Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood (Adapted for Young Readers) by Trevor Noah and sadly, this young reader’s edition was not exactly what I thought it’d be. I felt it jumped around a lot and had a mix of vocabulary that was very different from words high school kids wouldn’t necessarily know (for example, matriculation). I haven’t read the adult version of the book, so I’d be interested in comparing the two.
Reading List for Week of 5/27/19
I started Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte last night and hope to finish it in a few days! As for what else I’m reading, I’ll have to take a look at some blogs and new releases to see what’s been coming out in the past month or two.
