Blogging From A to Z Challenge – Vegetarian & Vegan Characters
A group of characters you don’t often read about in middle grade and young adult books are vegan and vegetarian characters. As I’ve stated over and over again this month, diversity is about more than just race and it’s so important for all different types of kids to get the chance to see someone like them in books.
- Dawn and the Impossible Three by Ann M. Martin
- The Boy From Tomorrow by Camille DeAngelis
- Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
- The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
- The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
- The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour
I’m spending the month of April promoting diversity in children and young adult literature as part of the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. Stop by every day for a new list of titles! Also, check out other bloggers who are participating by heading over at the Blogging From A to Z website!

I don’t think I pay enough attention to what people eat in a book to even consider the sort of diet they follow.
