Top Ten Tuesday: Outrageous Things I’ve Done for the Love of Books

This was a hard prompt for me as I don’t tend to do outrageous things. I did think of a couple of things to share, so instead of a Top Ten, it’s more like a Top Five this week!

Finished Harry Potter #7 in 2 days – The summer Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows came out, I was working at a summer camp. I didn’t want any of the kids spoiling it for me, so as soon as I picked up a copy of the book, I went home and read it cover to cover before camp started on Monday.
Started This Blog – My partner suggested that I start blogging and I thought, “What would I blog about and who would want to read it?” Eight years later, here I am blogging every day and really enjoying it!
Leaving Work Early to See Jacqueline Woodson – I happened to be on Twitter one afternoon and saw that Jacqueline Woodson was speaking at the Free Library of Philadelphia, so I finished up a few things and left work early to drive down to the city to see her!
Being Interviewed on a Podcast – Late last summer, I had the pleasure of recording an interview on the podcast, Lifelines with Ann Braden and Saadia Faruqi. It was an insanely nerve-wracking experience, but it was also a lot of fun too! Check it out here!
Built My Own Bookshelves – Pinterest inspired and probably one of the only Pinterest things I’ve done that didn’t fail miserably! I mean, honestly, how could you not love these bookshelves?!?!
