Slice of Life Day 27: Looking Forward to the Weekend
This week seems to be passing by so slowly! My parents (and their dog), plus my brother, sister-in-law and my niece and nephew are all coming into town this weekend!
It’s been a few months since I’ve seen everyone – it was Christmas time when I saw my brother’s family and my parents popped out for a quick weekend in early February. My sister-in-law sent me a text to let me know how excited my nephew is to come and visit. He’s only 3.5 years old and has truly the sweetest heart. He doesn’t quite understand the timing and has been crying because he wants “to leave now.” He’s also excited to see the “big tractor” – a playground climbing apparatus at the local park and to check on the horse’s foot. Now, I don’t have a horse, but we have a small farm just down the street from where I live and the horse had a bandage on his foot the last time my nephew was in town… in July! He still remembers this and wants to make sure the horse is okay. As I said, he’s a sweetheart.
My niece is just a year and a half and is an absolute whirlwind! Because we don’t live too close, I don’t get to see the kids too often, so I’m excited to spend a couple of days with them! Everyone’s arriving on Friday, so I’ve still got to get through a few more days (plus clean the house)!
The Slice of Life Challenge is something new I’m trying this month! I’ll be posting brief posts that show a glimpse of my life in story-format. A slice of my life as a librarian and blogger that I hope you enjoy!
