It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 3/25/19

Last Week

I got through a couple of great titles this week. I finished up To Night Owl from Dogfish by Holly Goldberg Sloan and loved the ending! The epistolary style also worked really well for this novel and was something a little different. I also read a novel in verse called The Moon Within by Aida Salazar about a young girl’s journey to becoming a woman. A topic that is not often the focus of a book. And when you consider that half the population has a menstrual cycle, you’d think there would be more books about dealing with it! Then I read Genesis Begins Again by Alicia Williams about a young girl, who from experience, believes her skin is too dark and does everything in her power to lighten it. This was a powerful story of loving who you are.

I also started a professional resource title called The Enchanted Hour: The Miraculous Power of Reading Aloud in the Age of Distraction by Meghan Cox Gurdon. These books usually take me a little longer than a typical middle grade or young adult title, but I’m excited to learn more about reading aloud.

Reading List for Week of 3/25/19

I’m happy to report that I’ve read (most) of what is on my library card. But, I still haven’t gotten to my Netgalley titles yet! So this week, we’re focusing on those titles:

  • The Size of the Truth by Andrew Smith
  • Up for Air by Laurie Morrison
  • The Library of Ever by Zeno Alexander
  • Pie In the Sky by Remy Lai
  • Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell
  • The Friendship Lie by Rebecca Donnelly

What are your reading plans this week?
