Slice of Life Day 13: My Personal Library
I have a beautiful floor-to-ceiling bookshelf in my office that houses (most) of my personal library. It’s filled with books from board books to college class texts. But also includes picture books, middle grade, and fiction titles, and reference books for coaching, teaching, and photography.
I’m very particular about what I add to my personal collection, as I don’t want to add just everything I read. And frankly, I don’t have the space to add everything. So, that being said, I choose only titles I’ve already read and really loved. Many of the titles on my shelves are signed by the authors and illustrators which make them even more special to me.
But what I also love about my bookshelf is that its filled with mementos from both my partner’s and my life, little things that are important to us and make our bookshelf special. Every time, I come upstairs, it’s the first thing I see and makes me smile. Not too bad for a Pinterest inspired project!
The Slice of Life Challenge is something new I’m trying this month! I’ll be posting brief posts that show a glimpse of my life in story-format. A slice of my life as a librarian and blogger that I hope you enjoy!

A shrine of sorts. I admire the thoughtfulness and discrimination that goes into your low-key curating effort.

Your bookshelf is awesome!!!! I also try to be very selective of the books that come home to stay. Space is precious and so are the books occupying it. Thanks for giving a glimpse into your world of books.

I can read from your words this space is special and carefully curated. A place to stop and enjoy.

I love the visual to go along with this! I laughed because my Harry Potter books are currently acting as steps to an imaginary something for my little kids. Some day they will go back to the shelf where they will be displayed with pride!
