It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 3/11/19

Last Week

It was such a busy week! Monday and Tuesday were spent continuing to work on the garage renovation and I will tell you, it finally feels like we’re making progress! The walls are up, primed and painted and this weekend I finished up the lighting. Now, we’ve got to put all the stuff back in the garage. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday were spent spending some quality time with friends. Saturday was spend working in the garage and I finally took a few hours to clean the house from top to bottom and do buckets and buckets of laundry.

That being said, I was actually able to read quite a bit! I started the week reading Just Under the Clouds by Melissa Sarno. I couldn’t get my hands on a copy of this last year and after reading a galley of A Swirl of Ocean I knew I needed to go back and read Melissa’s debut novel. And let me tell you, I’m kicking myself for not having read this earlier! It’s a beautifully told story of loss, homelessness, family, and friendship.

I then read four chapter books that I’m using as part of a presentation next week. They were Bat and the Waiting Game by Elana K. Arnold, Sasquatch and the Muckleshoot by Adam Gidwitz, Jasmine Toguchi, Drummer Girl by Debbi Michiko Florence, and Big Foot and Little Foot by Ellen Potter. I’ve got a few YA titles I should probably read this week for the same presentation!

Reading List for Week of 3/11/19

The YA titles I need to read are Darius the Great Is Not Okay by Adib Khorram, Sadie by Courtney Summers, Hey, Kiddo by Jarrett Krosoczka, and The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton.

And, I’ve still got Genesis Begins Again by Alicia Williams, The Lost Girl by Anne Ursu, and To Night Owl from Dogfish by Holly Goldberg Sloan from the library. Plus, I’ve still got a few titles on my Netgalley account I need to read – The Library of Ever by Zeno Alexander, Pie In the Sky by Remy Lai, The Friendship Lie by Rebecca Donnelly, and The Size of the Truth by Andrew Smith. So, let’s try again, maybe I’ll get to these titles this week!
