Slice of Life Day 8: A Delicious Dinner
It has been what feels like a very long week – I’ve been getting back to the gym in the morning, head straight to work and then have had something to do every night this week! Last night, I had dinner plans with a friend and I was absolutely exhausted, but I know I’d have a good time once we got together.
We tried a new restaurant in our area called North Italia and let me tell you, I’m really picky when it comes to restaurants and I was blown away! I ordered a glass of sangria and because we got there before the end of happy hour we ordered a Chef’s Board to share!
It was so delicious – the olives were some of the best I’ve ever had, the prosciutto was delicious, the different cheeses were great, the marinated eggplant, everything was delicious! I would have probably been happy just snacking on that and maybe having a dessert afterward. And that’s my plan for the future – they have a Happy Hour Deal for a bottle of wine and the chef’s board for $20, perfect!
For dinner, I chose the Bolognese which is considered the house specialty and I can see why! All the pasta is made fresh daily. It was so tasty, I would have eaten the whole thing, but wanted to save some for lunch today! I love when a restaurant delivers a well seasoned, hot meal. As I’ve said before, I really enjoy cooking and am pretty good, so my expectations are high when I got out to eat.
It was just a wonderful dinner experience with a kind waitress who went above and beyond for us. Plus, it was great to catch up with my friend who I haven’t seen for awhile, so all in all it was a lovely night! I’m still tired this morning, but it was so worth it!
The Slice of Life Challenge is something new I’m trying this month! I’ll be posting brief posts that show a glimpse of my life in story-format. A slice of my life as a librarian and blogger that I hope you enjoy!

I love when a new place becomes an instant favorite! It sounds like the catching up and the meal were the perfect pair!
