Reaching a Wider Audience
I’m really trying to find a wider audience this year for my blog. Literacious started off with a focus on providing children’s librarians with ideas from early literacy to middle school programming and booklists that span the childhood.
But as my day job has changed and I’ve started focusing more on the kinds of things I’m posting, I want to be able to reach out to more people to help them find amazing children’s books and ideas that you can share at home or at school.
Teachers
Teachers work so hard and finding time to read all the new kid lit being published is virtually impossible – but what if they can find a list of titles that might be perfect for what they’re working on in class? Or finding a song or finger play for their preschool class that fits with the curriculum for the week? That’s what I want to be able to offer.
Families
Plus, parents and families are a huge untapped market for me. I don’t know how many times a parent/guardian has come up to me and said, “I need something for my child to read. They’re _____ years old.” You don’t have to be a librarian or a teacher to use the storytime plans. Check out a few books from the library, read them together and share a song at home! Instant storytime and snuggly time! Having a place to find book reviews of recent titles that span from babies to teens can be an amazing resource!
Share!
So, if you regularly follow my blog, thank you! And if you can please share a blog post on your social media, or let a friend or family member know what you can find on Literacious! I started this post off thinking I would let everyone know they can find Literacious on Pinterest, which you can, but if you can do me a HUGE favor, share this resources with the people around you – I’d be forever grateful!
