#blogbookaday: The Snow Lion
Summary:
“From the fabulous partnership of award-winning author Jim Helmore and the brilliant Richard Jones comes a stunning book about friendship.
When Caro and her mum move to a new house, Caro becomes lonely. There’s only so much exploring she can do by herself! It’s not long though before she makes a new friend – The Snow Lion. He’s as white as snow, and together they have fun playing hide and seek, chasing and sliding. However, it’s soon time for Caro to venture out on her own . . .
With a slighty magical, classic feel and a lovely message, The Snow Lion is a story which will appeal to children and parents alike, and the beautiful illustrations make this a book to treasure.” (Taken from Goodreads)
Review:
Moving to a new house isn’t easy and Caro can only explore by herself for so long. But soon she meets a new friend – a white, Snow Lion and they have fun playing hide-and-seek throughout the house. The Snow Lion begins to suggest to Caro to try the park’s slide, spend time at Bobby’s house, and when the time comes, promises Caro that he’ll always be able to be found, if she knows where to look.
Personal Reaction:
This is the perfect title to end my 365 picture book review journey. It’s full of magic and really does have a beautiful message – to put yourself out there to make new friends. The quiet, lyrical text pairs perfectly with the illustrations of a little girl who’s not too sure of this new move, but really does try to make new friends. I absolutely adored it!

This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
