It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 11/12/18

Last Week

I finished up The Season of Styx Malone by Kekla Magoon – about a pair of brothers who have a wild adventure of a summer after befriending the secretive and worldly Styx Malone. I liked this diverse title for its share of brother-brother relationships and how something new and exciting can be so influential in your decision-making process. This is a perfect booktalk for kids as they head off into summer vacation as the whole story happens during that time.

Rather than opening The Lifters, I ended up reading another title in the Library Lover’s cozy mystery series – Book, Line, and Sinker by Jenn McKinlay. These are just so easy to read in a sitting or two and just a lot of fun. And just yesterday I started a YA novel that I’ve been waiting for – The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee. I loved her first novel in the series and am very excited to see what happens to Felicity.

Reading List for Week of 11/12/18

Besides The Lifters by Dave Eggers, I’ve also got No Fixed Address by Susin Nielsen, The Boy From Tomorrow by Camille DeAngelis, and A Problematic Paradox by Eliot Sappingfield from the library. Plus, I’ve got The Simple Art of Flying by Cory Leonardo, It Wasn’t Me by Dana Alison Levy, and Song for a Whale by Lynn Kelly. I’m hoping to get a little time between work and meetings to get some quality reading done this week.
