Top Ten Tuesday: Spooky Middle Grade Titles
This week’s theme is spooky, scary books, a genre, I admit, is not one that I read that often. I’m not a huge fan of spooky books, tv shows, and movies, so it was honestly difficult to come up with ten titles that I’ve read recently! I focused on middle grade titles because they can definitely be scary, but not as scary as young adult titles (which I definitely can’t read!) If you’ve got titles to suggest that are a little scary (but not too much), please let me know!
- Coraline by Neil Gaiman
- Doll Bones by Holly Black
- The Nest by Kenneth Oppel
- The Peculiar Incident on Shady Street by Lindsay Currie
- Splendors and Glooms by Laura Amy Schlitz
- Nightbooks by J.A. White
- Hoodoo by Ronald L. Smith
- Serafina and the Black Cloak by Robert Beatty
- The Jumbies by Tracey Baptiste
- The Night Gardener by Jonathan Auxier
Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.

I have read six of these book and the other four are on my TBR! 😛 I’d also recommend A Properly Unhaunted Place (not too scary but has lots of ghosts) and Spirit Hunters (actually pretty scary for middle grade).
