#blogbookaday: Bark Park!
Summary:
“Come along and play with all of the dogs at Bark Park in this exuberant rhyming picture book that’s a treat for animal lovers of any age.
Welcome to Bark Park! There are dogs running and dogs relaxing, dogs riding and dogs sliding, dogs with a buddy and dogs getting muddy—all before returning home to bubble bath, a cozy dog bed, and sweet dreams of—what else?—being back at the park.” (Taken from Goodreads)
Review:
A sweet story of dogs in the park – playing, getting muddy, running around and having fun! Then, each dog goes home with its owner. Afterwards are baths and bedtime and sweet dreams of their day in the park. With brief rhyming text, this would make a great read aloud in a dog-themed storytime. I might suggest this for our Read to the Dog program as Star, the greyhound, prefers books about dogs!
Personal Reaction:
Seeing all the different types of dogs playing in the park was the best part! I wish my own dog would be able to go to a park like this, but sadly she’s not too great with other dogs, so that wouldn’t work too well for us. I really loved the pictures and anyone with a dog of their own will relate to at least a few of these pictures – dogs rolling around in the mud, playing catch, and chewing on bones, just maybe not a dinosaur bone! I’ve got to get this title for my nephew – he absolutely adores dogs of all shapes and sizes and I think he’d love looking at all the different dogs in this book!

This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
