Top Ten Tuesday: Best Villains
This week’s theme is a look at the best villains in books. I read a lot of realistic fiction and there’s always a villain, but it isn’t always a person (although there are a fair number of mean girls!) it’s often a theme or social issue. So, rather than focus on realistic fiction titles, I’ve decided to focus on fantasy titles where it’s easier to name the villain. (I don’t want to name the villains in case you haven’t read any of these stories yet!)
- Rise of the Jumbies by Tracey Baptiste
- Willa of the Wood by Robert Beatty
- The Serpent’s Secret by Sayantani Dasgupta
- Miss Ellicott’s School for the Magically Minded by Sage Blackwood
- The Gauntlet by Karuna Riazi
- Carmer & Grit: The Wingsnatchers by Sarah Jean Horwitz
- Nightbooks by J.A. White
- Tumble & Blue by Cassie Beasley
- Shadow Weaver by MarcyKate Connolly
- The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
