#blogbookaday: Honk! Splat! Vroom!
Summary: “Five mice race down a road, eager to cross the finish line. But first they must overcome all sorts of messy obstacles, including mud and one very hungry cat! Luckily, a friendly goose saves the day.” (Taken from Goodreads)
Review: Five mice are racing to win the grand prize, but obstacles abound including dusty conditions, mud, a pond and a very hungry kitty! With the help of a new friend, all the mice make it to the finish line!
Personal Reaction: With only a few words – this would make a great easy reader story for practicing using inflection and learning to read punctuation! This would also be a lot of fun to read to a toddler storytime themed around race cars. You could easily make a felt board with the five mice and their race cars and find a cute little rhyme for them all!

This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
