It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 10/8/18
I need a few more hours in every day – I’m not getting as much reading done as I want, but this weekend I had a good excuse. My parents came out for the long weekend to help us re-wire our garage and put up some of the drywall. These projects never seem like they should take this long, but three days later I’m exhausted! The drywall is up where it needs to be and the wiring is ready for when the spray foam insulation goes in two weeks from now. After that, it’s a new garage door and drywalling the rest of the walls and ceiling of the garage! I didn’t necessarily want to spend this money on a glorified shed, but it’s going to look really great when we’re all done!
This week, I read three quick reads – Rebound by Kwame Alexander, Crush by Svetlana Chamkova, and Be Prepared by Vera Brosgol. I’ve got my hands on Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes, Hope in the Holler by Lisa Lewis Tyre and Harbor Me by Jacqueline Woodson, so my goal is get through all three of these this week and then I’ll grab the other titles I’m looking for from Mock Newbery lists:
- The Book of Boy by Catherine Gilbert Murdock
- The Season of Styx Malone by Kekla Magoon
- Hurricane Child by Kheryn Callender

I’m currently reading the riveting, MONDAY IS NOT COMING by Tiffany D. Jackson. I just realized that this is Monday-so quite appropriate 🙂
