Sharing My Thoughts on Lifelines
This has been a big week, my blog is now being self-hosted with the most amazing little octopus as a mascot (check out why I chose an octopus) and I was interviewed by Ann Braden, author and one half of the amazing team (Saadia Faruqi) that makes up Lifelines: Books That Bridge the Divide podcast.
I’ll be the first to admit that I am not great in front of a camera, still or video – I end up looking (and feeling) like a robot – super stiff and uncomfortable. So, I had a little a lot of trepidation going into this interview. But, let me tell you – Ann is literally the sweetest person, she made me feel so comfortable and talking with her was easy! It went much smoother than I could have ever imagined it and I’m so glad I got the chance to try something new! Will I ever start my own podcast? I don’t think so (I’m still getting up the courage to actually listen to the finished episode and hear my own voice!)
I want to send a HUGE thank you to Ann and Saadia for allowing me to share in their awesome spotlight and talk all things diversity and kidlit (my favorite topics!) You guys are amazing and I’m waiting anxiously for the next episode of Lifelines!
