#blogbookaday: Rainforest
Summary: “Travel deep into the rainforest – what elusive, fascinating creatures will you find there? Delicate, colourful and distinctive, Julia Groves’ illustrations introduce us to the animals that live in this precious and endangered habitat.” (Taken from Goodreads)
Review: A close up look of animals that live in the Amazon rainforest. With simple test and beautiful printmaking illustrations that celebrate the wide variety of animals in the Amazon. The book also includes additional information at the back of the book for those super, curious kids in your life!
Personal Reaction: I really love nonfiction titles geared toward a young audience and this one reads like a story, but also include facts about each of the animals as well. This would be a great story to share before heading to the zoo or for using during a lesson in endangered environments – I can see this working for one of our STEM storytime programs at the library!

This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
