Top Ten Tuesday: Bingeworthy TV Shows

I watch way more tv than I should, but after a long day at work, sometimes my eyes are too tired to read text, instead I’ll sit in front of the tv, watching some of my favorite shows. These have been some of my favorites both on cable television and Netflix.

  1. The Big Bang Theory
With fun characters (although a surprising lack of diversity for 2018), this nerdy show makes me laugh almost every episode and I’m excited to see how they wrap up the last season.
  2. Anne With an “E”
Start with separating this completely from the PBS movies and even the books, it’s an interesting look at Anne of Green Gables, a little darker than you’d expect.
  3. Sherlock
I loved the dynamic between Sherlock and Holmes in this BBC show, again darker than other reimagined books and shows, but one I really enjoyed.
  4. Anything superhero – Arrow, Flash, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones
I’ve really enjoyed the Marvel movies and have been enjoying a lot of the cable tv shows and Netflix superhero shows – until the superheroes get too whiny and then I usually call it quits.
  5. The Librarians
I started watching this with my partner and it was just too over the top, so I stopped watching. But, it might be something I watch this winter on my own.
  6. Orphan Black
Talk about over the top, with genetic modification, clones and a mysterious corporation – Orphan Black is all science fiction and a show that I really enjoyed!
  7. Bob’s Burgers
For a long time, this was my go-to light hearted show, animated and hysterical – I loved all the characters on it.
  8. Blacklist
I’ve always enjoyed watching crime drama and this is one with enough twists and turns that it’s kept me watching for a number of seasons.
  9. Queer Eye
A feel-good show that makes me cry every time I watch it. I binge watched through the second season and I’m thinking I might have to go back and watch it again. I love how it not only makes over someone on the show, but you really learn more about each of the guys as you watch.
  10. Series of Unfortunate Events
As my partner says, this one will make you feel awful watching it, but we still enjoyed the show overall. It truly is a series of unfortunate events, but with Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf and Patrick Warburton as your narrator, you really can’t go wrong.
