#blogbookaday: Bug Zoo
Summary: “Ben loves bugs: armored, teeny, leggy, greenie, floaty, wingy, jumpy, springy bugs! After a trip to the city zoo, Ben collects all of the bugs he can find and sets up a bug zoo. He couldn’t be happier–but what about his bugs?” (Taken from Goodreads)
Review: Ben loves bugs and after creating his very own bug zoo, he’s so happy and taking good care of all the bugs, but he soon realizes that his bugs aren’t as happy as he is. Ben must make a difficult decision, what does he decide?
Personal Reaction: This is a really cool idea for a book as it’s called a “Walt Disney Animation Studios Artist Showcase” allowing Walt Disney artists to spotlight their talent in their own personal works of art. Andy Harkness uses what looks like clay to design beautiful settings, bugs and an adorable little boy named Ben. The simple text allows the illustrations to really shine with it’s sweet story and bugs of all shapes and sizes!

This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
