A Trip to Target (Or How I Ended Up Adding 8 More Books to My Personal Library)

825377I was scrolling through Twitter yesterday and came across Peter H. Reynolds’s tweet stating, “Rumor has it: Target has 2 autographed copies of my book “The Dot” in every store in USA. If u happen to find one: post a pic of yourself holding the book inside – I will send you an original dot watercolor autographed by yours truly. Use

Of course, I head over to Target hoping to find an autographed copy of The Dot an absolutely adorable story about a little girl who feels uninspired and uncreative, until she’s encouraged to try to creating something small… just a dot and soon she’s become an artist as she explores art and learns about the power of inspiring others.

So long story short… after roaming around the book section (completely missing the fact that all the picture books were along the back wall) – I found one!!!!

Plus, while I was in Target, I picked up the six books in Kate DiCamillo’s Mercy Watson series and I also grabbed the first book in the Princess In Black series by Shannon Hale, so I walked away with eight books and none of the stuff I should have picked up like the dog food or groceries for dinner. I’d call it a win!

Oh, and if want to do a fun activity at home, school or the library – check out what we did to celebrate Dot Day a few years ago with our elementary school kids, it was a whole lot of fun and so creative!
