#blogbookaday: Monster's New Undies

Monsters New Undies.jpgSummary:  “These are my undies!
A sweet work of art!
Uh-oh! My undies!
They just fell apart.

Monster is JUST FINE with his old undies, thank you very much. But when his undies fall apart, what’s a monster to do?

His mommy takes him shopping, of course! But finding the perfect pair of undies is not going to be easy. . .

Come on already!
Can’t you just see?
There are no new undies
just right for me.

Uh-oh! Will monster ever find the perfect pair of undies? With hilarious rhymes from the celebrated author of Crankenstein, Samantha Berger, and bright and innovative illustrations from Tad Carpenter, this bouncy tale of self-reliance is full of warmth and humor.” (Taken from Goodreads)

Review: Monster loved his old underpants, but they were so old they finally fell apart! Now his mom is on a mission to find him a new pair that he loves just as much as his old pair. My only concern was that when his underwear falls apart, his mom drags him to Undie World to pick out a new pair… but he’s not wearing any clothes! On the other hand, how can you not love an undie dance, which I can totally see happening when you share this book with kids!

Personal Reaction: I mean, what’s not to love about a silly story filled with monsters and underwear? This one is sure to get some giggles from the little ones as there is underwear on just about every page! This would make a great story for kids that are beginning potty training (no real talking about the bathroom, but get them excited about underpants!) or for kids who have trouble letting go of something and trying something new. This one’s a lot of fun!

#blogbookaday (1)This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
