It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 7/23/18
I’ll definitely be reviewing The Adventures of a Girl Called Bicycle by Christina Uss. It was a book that surprised me in how much I ended up loving the quirky characters and crazy antics of Bicycle as she cycled from D.C. to San Francisco! I also read Where the Watermelons Grow by Cindy Baldwin about a young girl trying to come to terms with her mother’s mental illness while her dad tries to keep the farm going during a drought. It’s also the August pick for the Middle Grade At Heart Book Club (which I’m hopefully going to be able to “attend” on Twitter). I finished up Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls by Elena Favilli and am currently in the middle of The Boy, the Boat, and the Beast by Samantha M. Clark.
I also have for the upcoming week:
- The House That Lou Built by Mae Respicio
- The Science of Breakable Things by Tae Keller
- Playing Atari with Saddam Hussein by Jennifer Roy and Ali Fadhil
- The Key to Everything by Pat Schmatz
