#blogbookaday: Things To Do With Dad
Summary: “A morning of fun with Dad takes a turn for the boring when a long to-do list interferes. At first content to let Dad cross things off his list, the boy in the story soon realizes that the whole day will be spent on chores unless he can come up with a solution. In his singularly expressive, kid-friendly style, author-illustrator Sam Zuppardi crafts a colorful celebration of the fun that can be had with just a little imagination and a trusty green crayon.” (Taken from Goodreads)
Review: Dad’s got a long to-do list and his son just wants to spend time laying with Dad, so he comes up with a creative way to get the chores done and have fun at the same time! In an almost wordless picture book format, this is the perfect story to share with a little one who has a vivid imagination and loves to tell their own stories! This story is perfectly illustrated with a child-like illustration style and an experience many kids will be familiar with!
Personal Reaction: I appreciated a book that has Dad doing all sorts of chores – cooking, building, laundry, etc. It’s nice to see that gender roles don’t have to be how we imagine them to be. This is a perfect book for Father’s Day, so grab a copy today and share it with the dad and child in your life!

This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
