#blogbookaday: The Green Umbrella
Summary: “When Elephant takes a peaceful walk with his green umbrella he’s interrupted by a hedgehog, cat, bear, and rabbit—each claiming that they’ve had exciting adventures with his umbrella. After all, it is an umbrella, and it certainly hasn’t been on any adventures more exciting than a walk in the rain. Or has it?” (Taken from Goodreads)
Review: An elephant is taking a quiet walk in the rain under a green umbrella, when he continues to get interrupted by other animals claiming the umbrella is anything but! The animals soon become fast friends and share adventures and stay dry under the green umbrella.
Personal Reaction: I loved this story all about perspective, each animal looking at the umbrella as something different. And although the elephant gets exasperated having to constantly explain that this umbrella truly is just that, an umbrella – he ends up being willing to share his umbrella with each and every one of the animals and they soon become friends.

This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
