He’ll keep trying until he gets it just right and it’s time for one more mixing: a bubble bath!” (Taken from Goodreads) Review: A cement mixer gets to the job site ready to work, but he can’t seem to mix up the right ingredients to create a building! He mixes up flour and water, then sugar and water, finally finding the cement factory so that he can get the job done. When the day is over, he finds one more white powder and creates a bubble bath for the all the tired and dirty trucks. This is a quick read and will be a huge hit with the construction vehicle crew, plus the added giggles of what the cement truck actually makes will be well worth it! Personal Reaction: From the author of Supertruck comes another story about hard-working trucks. I really liked the illustrations in this book – most likely digitally created, but with a texture that makes them feel almost like block stamps. I also like that this book, although looks like a typical picture book, would actually make a great title for beginning readers – larger font, fewer words and basic vocabulary – all the ingredients for a perfect beginning reader. This would also be the perfect read aloud for a construction themed birthday party! And now, I’m off in search of a delicious piece of cake because this book made me hungry!
