#blogbookaday: The Library Book
Summary: “What’s the best way to cure a gloomy day? A trip to the library! Based on the hit song by Tom Chapin and Michael Mark, here is an affectionate, exuberant, uproarious celebration of books, reading, and—SHHH!—libraries!
The rain is pouring, Dad is snoring, and the same old stuff is on TV—boring.
What is there to do today?
Go to the library, of course!
Who will we meet there? Let’s find out!” (Taken from Goodreads)
Review: It’s a rainy, dreary day and a little girl decides to head to the library to pick out a few books! Once she arrives at the library the book characters jump off the shelves to be chosen by her to be taken home. With recognizable characters like Winnie the Pooh, Pinnochio and Babar, kids will get a kick out of this fun story and maybe even find some new books to read as well!
Personal Reaction: This book is based on a song that I wasn’t familiar with before reading the book, but it’s really cute with some basic lyrics that would make a fun part of storytime, especially if you could play the music while singing the book!

This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
