#blogbookaday: Wild One
Summary: “Can you stretch like a cat or hang like a bat? This little one can do those things and so many more as she bounds energetically through her day.” (Taken from Goodreads)
Review: A little girl with a wild imagination pretends to be different animals throughout her day at the park and at home as she gets ready for bed. I loved the vocabulary in this story with animals like eels, guppy, snail, whale and hare. Plus the author was able to get the animals to rhyme together in couplets, which lent a nice rhythm to the story as well.
Personal Reaction: I really enjoyed the simple text and watercolor and ink drawings as if she’s moving too quickly to do more than that. This story would make a wonderful book to share about using your imagination and pretend play. It could also be a great book to use in conjunction with yoga as you could stretch while reading it together.

This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
