#blogbookaday: Have You Seen Elephant? – Literacious
Summary: “Elephant wants to play hide and seek. You can play too, but you’ll have to try your best – he’s VERY good! Have You Seen Elephant is an absurd and heart-warming picture book from a brilliant storyteller with perfect comic timing. Watch out for the dog and the tortoise, too…” (Taken from Goodreads) Review: An adorable story of hide and seek with a (very) large elephant. The elephant warns the little boy that he’s very good and the boy searches high and low for his friend, but can’t find him anywhere! With the comedic timing of Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen, kids will be giggling non-stop as they find the elephant (and the dog and the tortoise) on every page! Personal Reaction: I’m a big fan of books that let readers in on the joke before the main character gets it. And this is no exception as readers will find the elephant long before the little boy does. I also loved the watercolor illustrations that fill every page with gorgeous color backgrounds – this book is truly a delight to read and look at! Title: Have You Seen Elephant? Author: David Barrow Illustrator: David Barrow Publisher: Gecko Press Publication Date: August 10, 2015 This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
