#blogbookaday: I Am a Unicorn! – Literacious
Summary: “Frog truly believes he is a unicorn. He has a rainbow-colored (clip on) tail, a pretty horn (party hat), and he can fly, too (on the swings). Goat keeps telling Frog he is NOT a unicorn. But when you truly believe—POOF, sometimes magic happens.” (Taken from Goodreads) Review: Frog believes he’s a unicorn and spreads happiness and cheer wherever he goes, but sadly it’s all just pretend and when Goat ruins his fun, Frog becomes upset. Until… something magical happens! Personal Reaction: This was a cute book that would be a perfect read aloud for toddler storytime – it doesn’t have too many words and some great emotion throughout to make it a very fun read aloud. Frog’s conviction that he is something different from what he actually is paired with his robust imagination is so much fun and I loved the ending! But you won’t get any spoilers here! Title: I Am a Unicorn Author: Michaela Schuett Illustrator: Michaela Schuett Publisher: Sky Pony Press Publication Date: May 16, 2017 This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
