Review: This story is about a little girl who finds the power of words when she “colors” her family, her house, the neighborhood and the world with what the doctor calls acute coloritis. Petronilla is a little bit mischievous and a little bit naughty as she continues to say “wash on” instead of “wash off.” But, when the family’s beloved dog can’t be found because of all the colors, Petronilla knows what she must do to find her pet… “Wash off!”

Personal Reaction: I’m always fascinated to see children’s books translated from other countries as they are always extremely different from what we see published here in America. Not only are the stories different, but so are the illustrations. I really enjoyed this fun story about a little girl who’s just a little different!
