#blogbookaday: Antoinette
Summary: “Raised in a family of talented bulldogs, Antoinette the poodle wonders what makes her special. She gets the chance to prove herself and find what she’s good at when puppy Ooh-la-la goes missing.” (Taken from Goodreads)
Review: Antoinette’s brothers are all really great at something, but Antoinette hasn’t found what makes her special yet, until her friend Ooh-la-la goes missing, Antoinette uses her detecting skills to save her life. I loved the ending of the story as you learn what Antoinette chose to do as her career. I also loved that this book is about differences among family members and siblings and to celebrate what makes you special! And don’t miss Gaston the story that precedes this one with familiar characters.
Personal Reaction: I’m a huge fan of Christian Robinson’s artwork, he effortlessly creates diverse scenes with a specific palette for each book he illustrates and I loved the French settings in this story and having just been in Paris this fall, I loved seeing the Louvre as Antoinette saves Ooh-la-la.

This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
