#blogbookaday: How to Find an Elephant

33155341.jpgSummary:  “What to do on a dull gray day? Head into the wilds and look for an elephant. You will need a pair of binoculars, a blanket, a flute, some food, a little imagination, and a lot of curiosity. Look and listen closely, because elephants can be anywhere. And watch out, because if you’re not careful, the elephant may find you first!” (Taken from Goodreads)

Review: A perfect title for the dreary, gray days of winter – what else do you do but go out and find yourself an elephant! This adorable seek-and-find story keeps readers on their toes as the main character searches for a elephant through a jungle, a rainstorm and a dessert and the reader searches each page for an elephant hidden among the illustrations.

Personal Reaction: This is an adorable story with absolutely imaginative illustrations and a little boy’s curiosity you can’t help but love. A great story for a safari-themed storytime or a one-on-one reading that will delight kids and inspire them to go on their own adventure!

#blogbookaday (1)This is a new idea I’m trying on my blog this year that was inspired by @donalynbooks and @heisereads – to provide a brief review of a picture book every day of 2018. You’ll get a brief summary of the story, a review of the content, illustrations and theme, my personal reaction to the book and all the pertinent publication information! Enjoy!
