Lists

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 12/11/17

I’m working on a new system for my reading habits. I’ve been taking out a stack of books for up to three weeks and then from the stack, choosing the titles that best fit my mood when I need to read something new! It seems to be working better for me – it gives me options, while still attempting to read the titles that I want to check off my TBR list before the end of the year.
Granted, I haven’t read as much as I had hoped during this year, but as my first full year as director, I had to re-align my work duties and personal life a little and I think that’s why my numbers are so much lower this year than in other years. I’ve also only offered a handful of programs personally and I know that reading for storytime, in the past, has given me a lot of titles for my reading list.
Overall, I’d like to plan on reading more in 2018, but I’m happy with this new system of reading and I’m getting a lot more read in the past few weeks than I have for most of the year previous to this.
This past week I read:

  • See You In the Cosmos by Jack Cheng
  • Dear Martin by Nic Stone
  • Far From the Tree by Robin Benway
  • One Trick Pony by Nathan Hale
  • The Sand Warrior by Mark Siegel, Alexis Siegel, Xanthe Bouma, Matt Rockefeller, Boya Sun

I’m hoping to dive into the pile on my desk this week which includes:

  • The Epic Fail of Arturo Zamora by Pablo Cartaya
  • The Gauntlet by Karuna Riazi
  • The Harlem Charade by Natasha Anastasia Tarpley
  • Pashmina by Nidhi Chanani
  • The Shadow Cipher by Laura Ruby
  • Speed of Life by Carol Weston
  • The Wonderling by Mira Bartok
