It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 8/28/17
This week I got a chance to read The Magic Misfits by Neil Patrick Harris and Sparrow by Sarah Moon and started reading Disappeared by Francisco X. Stork, which I can’t wait to finish because only a few chapters in, I’m already invested in the story and can’t wait to see what happens.
Sparrow was a powerful story of mental illness and what it looks like when a person agrees to seeking the help they needs. It’s a truly powerful story that I’m hoping will reach out and grab a lot of readers! I’m prepping for a trip to my parents’ house for Labor Day weekend and then a vacation right afterward, so I’m not sure how much time will be spent reading this week, but it’s the only thing that keeps me somewhat relaxed and calm, so I’ve got to find some time to read this week, even for just a few minutes a day.
This week I’m going to finish Disappeared by Francisco X. Stork, which when I picked it up, I thought it would be dystopian fiction, but in fact it’s a story of immigration, family, friendship and so much more. I’m also going to try to read The Traitor’s Game by Jennifer A. Nielsen – it’s a rough ARC, but I enjoy Nielsen’s writing and have high hopes for this story.
