It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 8/21/17

This week was a busy one (as they all are!) but I did manage to read Slider by Pete Hautman and The Incredible Magic of Being by Kathryn Erskine. I also cracked open The Magic Misfits by Neil Patrick Harris and got through the first chapter before I fell asleep last night. I’ve already written of book reviews that will be posted next month while I’m on vacation for both books I read. Slider is a great middle grade read with competitive eating as a backdrop to understanding where you fit in, not only in your family, but with your friends too. The Incredible Magic of Being is the story of a young kid who’s connected to the universe in a way his family doesn’t understand, but proves to be a powerful connection when it helps to save someone’s life and bring his family together in a way they haven’t been in a long time.

This week I plan on reading The Magic Misfits by Neil Patrick Harris, Disappeared by Francisco X. Stork and (hopefully) Sparrow by Sarah Moon. I’m getting closer to finishing up the ARCs taking up valuable space on my bookshelf, just in time for the Princeton Book Festival where I’ll buy more titles to add…it’s a delicate balance!
