It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 7/3/17

I honestly have no clue how it’s already July… I feel like this year is flying by and although this new position is cutting into my reading time, I’ve started finding a good balance, which all pretty much when out the window this weekend. I’m spending the holiday weekend with (most) of my family including my nephew, a few pets, family friends and travel – which for me means little alone time to sit with a book and read. Even though I talk with my mom multiple times a week, we still have plenty to talk about when I see her in person.

I did get a chance to finish Brightwood by Tania Unsworth before I left for the weekend and I was also able to read The Secret Sheriff of Sixth Grade by Jordan Sonnenblick – a very quick read! I love how Jordan Sonnenblick writes realistic fiction and makes it accessible to kids and opens the dialog for some of these situations. I also grabbed Refugee by Alan Gratz and at the last minute also stuffed Maud: A Novel Inspired by the Life of L.M. Montgomery by Melanie J. Fishbane, which I’m super intrigued to read – I have loved Anne of Green Gables for years and anything that has to do with her world, I’m all about! Look for a book review of Brightwood available this week and have a safe and happy 4th of July!
