Top Ten Tuesday: All About the Villains

4 Oct

villians.pngI wanted to focus on villains in more of a fantasy setting than in realistic fiction and you’ll see that’s kind of where I leaned for this list.  The problem with that is I’m not a huge fan of anything scary – books, TV shows, movies, haunted houses, etc.  So, this is definitely not my wheelhouse when it comes to books I’ve read.  For this list, I’ve actually most of the books but haven’t tried Hoodoo, The Cavendish Home, Took or The Crossroads. But, the others are ones I am always telling kids about who are looking for creepy, scary stories to read!

  1. Serafina and the Black Cloak by Robert Beatty
  2. The Night Gardener by Jonathan Auxier
  3. Hoodoo by Ronald L. Smith
  4. Coraline by Neil Gaiman
  5. Splendors and Glooms by Laura Amy Schlitz
  6. The Jumbies by Tracey Baptiste
  7. The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls by Claire Legrand
  8. Took: A Ghost Story by Mary Downing Hahn
  9. The Crossroads by Chris Grabenstein
  10. The Nest by Kenneth Oppel
