It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 10/3/16
A busy week left me exhausted and with very little time to read, so my plan to read The Evil Wizard Smallbone by Delia Sherman and A Fierce and Subtle Poison by Samantha Mabry are still on my list for this week.
The good news is, is that I’m finally feeling more comfortable in my new position. We finished the interview process for my old position which also puts me at ease as we’ll have fewer meetings and interviews to do and we’re looking at a very competent person to take over the Children’s Librarian position and as that becomes official, I’ll talk more about the interview process. And this week looks pretty good with fewer meetings to attend which means more time for me to focus on really getting my feet under me and starting to plan for the last few months of this year and start focusing on a plan for 2017, but more on that later!
Hopefully, this week, I’ll be able to read both of these books and maybe even getting the chance to pick another one or two, if I’m lucky!

I recently bought (and read) 2 picture books for gifts at the SCBWI Carolinas conference this weekend, and they are adorable. THE KNIGHTS BEFORE CHRISTMAS, by Joan Holub -very cute & funny. And SURFER CHICK by Kristi Dempsey-so sweet and will make you smile. The illustrations (by Scott Maroon and Henry Cole respectively) were fantastic!😊
