It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 8/15/16
It was one of those weeks where books started gathering dust at my house. We were finishing up summer reading with a HUGE backyard games program, I was working with our current director to get caught up as I take over that position, and unfortunately, I had to attend a funeral over the weekend. A lot of my family came out for the funeral which meant cleaning the house as quickly as I could and making sure we wouldn’t melt in this awful heat we’ve been having.
Overall, the funeral was very celebratory and even though the family was together for a difficult reason, it was nice to see my siblings, parents, nephew, cousins, and other relatives.
I did get the chance to peak at a few picture books this week – Let Me Finish! by Minh Le and The Not-So-Quiet Library by Zachariah OHora, both authors whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in person. I was also able to finish Seraphina and the Twisted Staff by Robert Beatty. Last night I finally read the first chapter of Start with Why by Simon Sinek, before my eyelids began drooping and I fell asleep. We’ll see how much I can get through this week – a new job and long weekend away might crimp my style a little, but I’m ready to dive back into a few books!
