It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 7/11/16

I missed reporting last week as it was the 4th of July, so here’s a two-week update.  I’ve been trying to read fairly regularly as I can tell when I’m not reading enough – I get extra stressed out and cranky.  And with summer reading in full force, the less crankiness the better!  Over the past two weeks I’ve read:

  • It Ain’t So Awful, Falafel by Firoozeh Dumas
  • A Tangle of Knots of Lisa Graff (reread)
  • A Clatter of Jars by Lisa Graff
  • Nine, Ten: A September 11 Story by Nora Raleigh Baskin
  • One Half from the East by Nadia Hashimi
  • Good Night, Baddies by Deborah Underwood
  • Flora and the Peacocks by Molly Idle
  • Grumpy Pants by Claire Messer
  • One Day, The End.: Short, Very Short, Shorter-Than-Ever Stories by Rebecca Kai Dotlich
  • Ideas Are All Around by Philip C. Stead
  • The Seventh Wish by Kate Messner
  • When Green Becomes Tomatoes: Poems for All Seasons by Julie Fogliano

I’ve been really busy!  I didn’t realize how much reading I’d done until I saw this list!  I’ve got a few things I’d like to try and get to this week:

  • The World Beneath: One South African Boy’s Struggle to Be Free… by Janice Warman
  • Our Teacher is a Vampire and Other (Not) True Stories by Mary Amato
  • Lucy & Andy Neanderthal by Jeffrey Brown
  • The Voyage to Magical North by Claire Fayers

imwayrJoin Jen from Teach Mentor Texts and Kellee and Ricki from Unleashing Readers and share all of the reading you have done over the week from picture books to young adult novels. Follow the links to read about all of the amazing books the #IMWAYR community has read. It’s the best way to discover what to read next.
